About GMU-NOVA
The NOVA Go Club at GMU has two branches:
Weekly meetings on Monday nights (7:00-11:00) at the Arlington Temple, United Methodist Church, 1835 Nash Street, in Roslyn, VA, and
Weekly meetings on Thursday nights (4:30-7:30) at the Fairfax campus, 4400 University Drive Fairfax, VA 22030, Student Union Building I (SUB I), Lobby (http://www.gomason.org/).
(Tournaments are at the GMU-Arlington campus, 3401 Fairfax Drive, Old Administration (Original) Building, Room 257)
At GMU - Arlington and at the Arlington Temple, we all must find street parking.
Players at all levels are welcome: we range from beginners to 6 Dan. Of the nearly 30 members in Arlington, typically 15-20 attend each week. Teaching games and lectures are a feature, especially for beginners and mid-kyu players.
The NOVA Go Club is an official chapter of the American Go Association. Stronger players are always willing to engage in teaching games with less advanced players. Beginners welcome! We have a reputation for hospitality, and we try to live up to it!
At least five handicap tournaments, AGA rated, are held every year. Tournaments are held on Saturdays and the pace is normally four rounds at 45 minutes per player. The entry fee is typically $15 and AGA membership is required.
